The funeral service for Father Ricardas Repsys, the administrator of Divine Providence Lithuanian Parish who died Tuesday in an accident on Lake St. Clair, will be held on Saturday, August 1, at 10 a.m. at Divine Providence Church, 25335 W. Nine Mile Road in Southfield. The body will lie in state in the church one hour prior to the service. Monsignor Edmond J. Putrimas, delegate for the Apostolate of Lithuanian Catholics Abroad, will preside at the liturgy. A rosary service will take place at 7 p.m. today, Friday, July 31, at the church.

Note to media members: The Archdiocesan Department of Communications relays a request from the Divine Providence Parish Council, that no recording devices — video, audio, or still photography — be allowed inside the church building while the body lies in state or during the funeral service.

In order to reserve parking for those attending the funeral, the council asks that media vehicles restrict their parking to the curved drive exiting the church parking lot, on the west side of the campus.

Reporters and crews covering this story are reminded of the solemnity of this occasion and are asked to heed the instructions of ushers and church personnel while on parish property, and to be sensitive in what is a difficult time for the church community. In addition, they are asked to respect the privacy of Father's family members and their need for personal space.
