View the Quarter
July to September 2009
  • Congregations of both men and women religious as well as National Catholic organizations were significantly represented at The Retreat Center this first quarter. Eight separate groups from north, south, east and west comprised nearly 500 of our guests in the full bloom of summer.

  • Nine additional Catholic religious and diocesan organizations checked in from closer to home, including an annual clergy retreat, two large worshipping communities, a Gospel Choir, a sisters’ mission group, a university faculty, a regional professional conference and a marriage encounter. These events added up to more than 300 people intent upon personal renewal or spiritual formation.

  • The Retreat Center was not wanting for Archdiocesan retreats or conferences.

    • The F. Gerald Martin Pastoral Conference attendees used our overnight facilities for their annual conference.

    • Another Covenant Love marriage preparation retreat welcomed 25 couples into conversations about the sacramental commitment they are about to make, providing a broad range of relevant topics.

    • Six parishes or schools conducted staff/faculty retreats prior to the new school year. (270+)

    • High School retreats resumed as did confirmation retreats. The Sacred Heart Major Seminary theology course also commenced. (400)

  • Local Protestant communities conducted men’s and women’s retreats, prayer weekends and retreats for teens. There were thirteen of them totaling approximately 400 praying Christians.

  • Finally another set of miscellaneous groups chose the Center as a place for revitalizing their mission. (170).
